Welcome to the first blog post – it is only a short one!
After graduating with a degree in 3D Design and Craft from the University of Brighton this summer, I am now looking to the future. Although it’s rather daunting not knowing how best to build a career in the Art and Craft Industry, I thought it would be a great opportunity to start blogging about it.
What I expect will be in this blog?
- My journey in building my career including the highs and lows
- My thoughts on Art, Craft and Design
- Book reviews and recommendations
- Processes I undertake in my own work
- Upcoming shows and events
- My research
This will be an opportunity for you to read about behind the scenes and follow my journey. I want this blog to be organic so that it grows alongside my practice, giving my customers an insight into how I work. Inspiring younger generations to find art in their lives and for my own personal growth through documenting and reflecting. Reflection is the greatest tool to improve but it can also be a destructive tool if you’re anything like me. I have found that since graduating that I have questioned my ability too many times, this has led to an almost fear of returning to the studio. By writing this blog I am forcing myself to stay on track because by writing it down it becomes difficult to ignore.
Hope you enjoy what’s to come.
